Valentino. "The hotly-anticipated Valentino show was held in a Sorbonne amphitheatre with a circular runway and live orchestra. Designers Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli, in their debut collection for the house, presented a collection "born from a love for and deep knowledge of the Valentino spirit. It represents the intimacy and sensibility developed from a decade of working in the atelier, yet, it also offers an evolution." A nod towards Valentino staples was apparent, whether in the cream suits, red dresses or jewelled coats. The collection was understated, elegant and ladylike and the finale walk of all the models in their varying rainbow-hued ensembles was simply stunning. The best part of the show? Garavani himself, sitting front row and clapping enthusiastically, as though giving his blessing to the new designers."
